Roll
Arcade · plays in your browser, no download
A marble on a track hanging over nothing. Steer it sideways over narrow bridges, around barriers and away from the hammers, and do not roll off the edge.
Where it comes from
Marble runs are older than video games by a few centuries — wooden tracks and glass marbles were a nursery toy long before the 1980s arcade cabinets turned them into a race against gravity. The phone version keeps the oldest rule of all: the ball goes where the floor lets it, and off the edge is off the edge.
How to play
- The marble rolls forward on its own. You steer it sideways: keep your finger down and it follows, or use the arrows.
- Under the track there is nothing. Roll off the edge and you fall.
- Barriers stop you until you go around them; bumpers and hammers knock you sideways — near an edge, that is a fall.
- Coins are on the way and on side paths. The pink arrows speed you up: harder to steer.
- Reach the checkered line to win. More stars means a longer track, narrower bridges and more in the way — but every track can be finished.
What makes this one different
The marble rolls on its own; your whole job is sideways. That is easy on a wide floor and hard on a bridge one marble wide, harder still when a bumper or a swinging hammer shoves you towards the edge. Every track is built around a line that can be followed, so a fall is always a steering mistake, never bad luck.
Wide floors, narrow bridges, split paths with coins on the detour, striped barriers that stop you, blue bumpers and wooden hammers that knock you sideways, and pink arrows that speed you up. More stars makes the track longer, the bridges narrower and the marble faster.
