Black tiles slide down four lanes, and each one you tap plays the next note of the tune. Ode to Joy, Für Elise, Jingle Bells: play the whole melody without a wrong note.

Where it comes from

Falling-note games go back to the rhythm boom of the late 1990s, when arcades filled with plastic guitars and dance mats. On phones the idea shrank to four lanes and a finger, and the piano version became one of the most played games of the 2010s. The melodies here are all in the public domain: Beethoven, Mozart-era nursery tunes and old folk songs.

How to play

What makes this one different

Every tile is a note, so a good run sounds like music and a wrong tap sounds wrong — the game tells you how you are doing without a single word. The tunes are the ones everybody already knows, which helps more than it seems: your fingers start guessing where the next tile will be.

Six tunes — Twinkle Twinkle, Mary Had a Little Lamb, Frère Jacques, Ode to Joy, Jingle Bells and Für Elise — played by a small piano built into the game. More stars means faster tunes and fewer hearts: three to start with, one at the top. Long tiles are held notes; gold tiles shine.
